We have chosen ten of our favorite desk lamp designs because we feel all these are timeless due to their exceptional quality of composition, materials, and finishes.

The following text about design details for each lamp is from the manufacturer. Technical information for the lamps along with pricing can be found at the manufacture’s websites in the links we have provided. All the lamps use light emitting diodes-LEDs.

1-AJ

By Arne Jacobsen in 1960 and produced by Louis Poulsen

Arne Jacobsen designed the AJ desk lamp for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen.

Louis Poulsen has always sought, not only to design lamps, but also to shape light and create an atmosphere that makes people feel good, both indoors and outdoors. The shape of light creates space, and our products should live harmoniously within the area they define – indirect, soft, and inviting.

The fixture emits downward directed light. The angle of the shade can be adjusted to optimize light distribution. The shade is painted white on the inside to ensure a soft, comfortable light.

6-Peek

By Jonas Wagell in 2015 and produced by Menu

The Peek desk lamp is simplistic, humble, and somewhat quirky. This modern lamp features a heavy base and a long slender stem and shade.

With the ability to adapt to your needs, Peek swivels 360 degrees around the base, and the shade can be turned in any direction.

The base features a concave top creating a bowl for essential stationery, earplugs, jewelry, or other small items.

To dim the light, simply touch the tip of the stem. Perfect for casting diffused, direct light, use this lamp as a reading light, as your new best friend on your desk or as the last thing you see before you close your eyes at night.
