Breathtaking high mountain peaks, grassy meadows with wildflowers, and a lakeside cedar sauna are just a few of the highlights in this BC travel adventure.
Located in southwestern British Columbia, Canada, just above Vancouver, owned and operated by Whitecap Alpine, this backcountry hiking and skiing lodge should be on your travel adventure bucket list.
An extra special highlight of this high mountain lodge is their cedar sauna built on a boulder in a pristine alpine lake.

We have three yurts-one large yurt with two double beds and two single bunks, and two smaller yurts with one double bed and an upper single bunk. All yurts have propane heaters and foot pump sinks for hand washing and teeth brushing.
We have a sauna building which includes a sauna, warm shower, and a sink with running water. It also contains two rooms with a double bed and a single upper bunk.
Lakeside Cedar Sauna
Summer packages for this travel adventure include day hikes with an experienced guide. A portion of each day trip consists of a rejuvenating stop at Whitecap Alpine’s famous cedar sauna built on a boulder in an alpine lake 1.6 miles (2.6 kilometers) from the lodge.
The design of the sauna was a collaborative effort of the lodge owners, managers, and carpenters.
The little sauna has four legs that are anchored to an exiting boulder in the lake. The structure has zero impact on the landscape and feels at home in its natural surroundings.
Day Hike Sauna Break
During a typical day trip, hikers are offered the opportunity to fire up the lakeside sauna, have a good sweat, and bask in the grandeur of the mountain scenery.
Alpine Lake Plunge
Last but not least, the trip would not be complete without a quick plunge in the ultra-pure alpine lake just steps away. This may be the ultimate soul-cleansing ritual of a lifetime and surely a breathtaking experience.
